The basics about this blog
Something Magic came into existence in the spring of 2010 with the intent that eventually it will expand to a full out website. For now I post 2-3 times on anything from events I attend to technical/geeky subjects to the latest recipes I’m trying out. I have a lot of different interests and this blog is a reflection of that. I do intend to settle into a regular posting schedule, but I haven’t quite gotten to that point yet.
This blog is also a continual work in progress as I learn more about working with websites and get the time to expand it, so keep an eye out for new and different pages to come into existence. If you have any questions or things that you would like to see me post about, feel free to drop me a message at a…@g…l.com.
I work in the User Experience realm of a strange land known as Software Development. One of my co-workers recently decided that the essence of our job is to save the developers from themselves, though it could also be said that our team saves the customers from the developers. It’s all a matter of perspective.
When I’m not attempting to save the world from painful web experiences I sell lia sophia jewelry and recently decided to offer PartyLite as well. Suffice it to say I do have friends who think I’m crazy, especially because the vast majority of my ‘free’ time is devoted to the local theatre group whether I’m acting, singing or running things behind the scenes.
I also have a kitchen garden, sew, enjoy cooking and baking, and am a bit of a twitter addict. You can find me @AlainaRachelle. My tweets are as random as my posts can be ; )
Let our days be filled with small rebellion, senseless brutal acts of kindness from us all. If we stand between the fear and firm foundation, push against the current and the fall…
God of the worn and tattered, all of your people matter. Give us more than words to speak because we are more than hearts and arms that reach.
“Small Rebellion” – Jars of Clay
PS I’m also taking part in the Pound for Pound Challenge for the second year in a row. Last year this program gave me the push I needed to lose 15 lbs and this year I’m going for another 10. Check out their site on how to meet your own goals while helping you local food back.
